Some of the delicious food we tried included assorted sushi rolls, lobster and tiger rolls, ahi tuna salad, steak, phenomenal chilean sea bass, mouth-watering crab cakes (pure crab), and the most amazing (huge) fortune cookie dessert stuffed with chocolate/vanilla mousse.
Later on, after dinner, is when the real fun begins. A diverse crowd of people get ready to dance the night away, having a blast, with the background music supplied by the hottest DJs from New Jersey and New York. You can buy your drinks at the bar, or, a more relaxed setting, you can get VIP bottle service and private seating in the Skyview Lounge on the weekends. And the service is outstanding.
Here's a review on their club, written by one of our younger journalists:
"This past weekend I went to meet some friends at a bar/club in Hoboken called “Teak on the Hudson." I did not go there planning to write a review on it, but after going I felt compelled to. First off, I would like to say that I enjoyed the ambiance and décor, and thought that everything was arranged well to suit people’s ability to walk around. It allowed everyone to move around not feeling like a sardine in a can, like most other clubs. We decided to purchase a table that night, mostly in celebration of a friend buying his new apartment and landing a new job, but it was also to avoid having to barrel through people to get to the bar. Being at a table there was fantastic as we enjoyed the extra bit of exclusivity, but even for those who did not purchase a table, it actually was not hard at all to grab a drink at the bar, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. As the night progressed, I realized that all in all, I was extremely happy with the choice we had made to celebrate at Teak instead of one of our usual spots. The only bump in the road that occurred was during a point when we were waiting for a few drinks/chasers that seemed like they were never going to come. I ended up asking for the manager, who came out quickly, resolved the problem immediately, and helped to make sure we had a great night. My expectations were more than met with as the Bar Manager (Jeff Vazquez) went above and beyond to take care of us. He was very professional and, as someone who has experience as a bartender, I can say that he ran his bar swiftly and effectively. Between the aura of the club, and Jeff as Bar Manager, “Teak on the Hudson” is a place I would highly recommend for anyone stopping by, or living in, the Hoboken area."
Teak on the Hudson is definitely one for your lists of places to be. A great night will be had by all.
